The Government of Southern Sudan’s Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Population Service International, on Monday started mass distribution of insecticide treated mosquito nets.
This is part of the plan to eradicate Malaria in southern Sudan. The population in Kuajok assembled at distribution points to get the treated net.
Women represented their families and collected nets equivalent to the size of their families. Marcie Cook, the PSI Country Representative in Sudan, said the mosquito nets are being distributed at a ratio of one for two persons. She encouraged the beneficiaries to use the nets in order to achieve the targeted goal.
