The Sudanese government decided to suspend peace talks with the Justice and Equality Movement after the Omdurman events.
Last Saturday the Justice and Equality Movement headed by Dr. Khalil Ibrahim launched an attack on Omdurman.
In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM, the Spokesperson of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, Ali Al-Sadiq, said that the government decided to fight the Justice and Equality Movement.
Mr. Sadiq said that the government will consult with the international community regarding negotiations with the other Darfur armed movements.
The Human Rights Watch Organization meanwhile expressed concern over mass arrests by the Sudanese government of Darfurians accused of being behind the Omdurman attacks.
The Organization called on the government to release all the detainees and bring them to a fair trial.
