Chadian government announces cutting its economic relations with Sudan PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 13 May 2008
The Chadian government announced the closure of its eastern border and cutting its economic relations with Sudan after Khartoum severed its diplomatic relations with the country. Sudan earlier accused Chad of supporting the recent attacks launched by the Justice and Equality Movement rebels on the capital. In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM , the Chadian Minister of information Muhammed Hussein said that the government decided to close the border to prevent Sudan’s continuous accusations against Chad in its struggle with the Darfur armed movements.

He added that the decision was also made to prevent expansion of the Sudanese conflict into the Chadian territory.
