Hassan Al-Turabi released by security authorities |

The Security Authorities released the Secretary General of the Popular Congress Party, Dr. Hassan Al-Turabi, on Monday night.
Dr. Turabi was released together with his collogues who were arrested on Monday morning after being suspected of backing the recent attacks carried out by the Justice and Equality Movement in Omdurman on Saturday. Speaking to Miraya FM, Dr. Turabi said that in the beginning he was being treated badly. He added that later the treatment gradually improved up to his release.
The State Minister in the Ministry of Information, Dr. Kamal Obeid earlier told Miraya FM that Dr. Turabi was arrested due to information obtained by the security authorities indicating the involvement of the Popular Congress Party in the Omdurman events.
