The official sessions of the Second Donors Conference started today in the Norwegian capital, Oslo. The United Nations and the World Bank are participating in the Conference. The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohammed Taha, is expected to brief the conference on the implementation progress of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. The Sudanese government said that it demanded from the donors a sum of $ 6 billion for the next three years.  However, the Norwegian government said that it will allocate $460 million for Sudan. Speaking to the press, the Minister of Presidential Affairs in the Government of Southern Sudan, Dr. Luka Biong, said that the donor countries had fulfilled their pledges until year 2007.
