The SPLM in South Kordofan Sate has called on citizens not to participate in the population Census in that state.
A statement from the SPLM, which Miraya FM received a copy of, said the reasons for the action are the insecurity in the state, lack of proper representation of the movement in the state's census institutions, boarder demarcation; lack of English language questionnaires, and the non–reactivation of efforts for the IDP voluntary return.
The statement was signed by the SPLM Chairman in South Kordofan State and the Deputy State governor Daniel Kodi.
Census began only in Kowda and Jaloud state municipalities and in the surrounding villages where the SPLM members refused to take part in the census. The Fifth population Census started all over Sudan on Tuesday early morning.
