A team from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has urged the government of Kenya to make sure no amnesty is granted to people who committed abuses during the country's post-election violence.
The five-member team issued its call on Wednesday in a report that followed a three-week visit to Kenya last February, which included meetings with both citizens and government officials.
The report is aimed at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission due to be set up in Nairobi.
Some politicians in Kenya have suggested that amnesty be issued, and many Kenyans fear a truth and reconciliation commission that has been agreed will be used to cover up crimes.
