National Assembly determines amending annual budget |

The Interim National Assembly has expressed determination to amend the annual budget to take into consideration the increases in the prices of essential commodities, especially wheat flour, and therefore put a quick end to its repeated price increase.
The Chairperson of the assembly’s economic committee, Jemma Noon Komba, stated to Miraya FM that the committee will ask the Minister of Fnance to set up necessary measures to curb price increases.
She said the value-added tax in the current budget is one of the reasons for the price increases.
Meanwhile, the State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Al Sameih Al Sadiq, revealed measures and ways the government is considering to face the sharp increase in the price of wheat flour. He said among the proposals under consideration is a reduction in all taxes levied on wheat, as part of the effort to find a solution to the increases in the prices of essential items.
