A member in the Joint Defense Board (JDB) from the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), Major General Bior Ajang, accused the Sudan Armed Forces of closing the main routes entering west Abyei, during the recent clashes between the Misseiriya and the Dinka Ngok tribes.

Speaking to Miraya FM, Major General Ajang, said that there are differences within the Joint Defense Board regarding the reports submitted by the committee assigned to investigate the Mayrum incidents.

He said that there is also differences between the SPLA and the Sudan Armed Forces regarding the process of the redeployment south and north of border 1956.   The Joint Defense Board is expected to meet in Juba next Wednesday to discuss all the pending issues including the redeployment of both armies to south and north, and the problems in the areas of co-existence.
