Saturday, 02 February 2008
Late Dr. John Garang Institute for Science and Technology was inaugurated yesterday in Bor town in Jongolei State.

Among the ceremony attendants were lecturers from the the University of Khartoum and  University of Juba who called the state government , the government of southern Sudan and local communities to support the institute to achieve its goals, advising that the University should not entirely rely on foreign aid.

The institute was established in a partnership with the Moldavian oil company Eskom after singing an agreement with the Jongolei State government last year.

Currently nearly70 students are studying science and administration at the institute.
