The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has resumed the repatriation of Sudanese refugees from Kenya to Jongolei State in south Sudan.
The tribal clashes that erupted at the end of last year had forced the UNHCR to temporarily suspend the repatriation to the area.
As the security situation improved in the past weeks in Bor, capital of Jongolei State, the UNHCR decided to resume repatriation by air.
The UN agency said in a statement that organized returns in the coming weeks will mostly focus on areas in and around Bor, in addition to Pochalla, Pibor and Akobo areas near the Ethiopian borders.
Basic Education Certificate Examinations for the year 2007-2008 is still continuing in three States of southern Sudan.
Students are sitting for these exams, which started on Monday, in the states of Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, and Jongolei.
