The Sudanese Foreign Ministry has summoned the American Charge D'Affaires in Khartoum, Alberto Fernandez. The Ministry said that it is seeking explanations from Fernandez on statements he made regarding the Sudanese internal affairs.
The Spokesman of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, Ali Al-Sadiq, said that Fernandez’s interference in the internal affairs is unacceptable. He said that such intervention will affect the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the efforts exerted to achieve peace in Darfur, and the relations between the two countries.
However, the information official in the US Embassy in Khartoum declined to comment when contacted by Miraya FM.
