Four members of the same family, including a woman and a fourteen-year old child, died on Monday evening in Malakal when a soldier opened fire on them, following a personal argument with his colleague.

An officer from the second army division in Malakal, who wished to remain anonymous, told Miraya FM that the incident occurred in a house located near the military command of the Joint Integrated Unit.

The killer who arrived from Juba and was hosted by the man whom he later killed together with his family.

The officer said the search for the killer is still going on.

Meanwhile, the Security Advisor for Upper Nile, Anthony Edward Nyawello, told Miraya FM that security in the state is stable.

However, he mentioned some minor security incidents which are caused by the proliferation of small arms in the hands of the civilians.
