Juba town is facing shortage in fuel such as diesel and petrol. Most of the fuel stations have no diesel at all.

The administrator and finance manager of Imatong Gas Company, one of the biggest fuel suppliers in Juba town, Allison Finish, said that petrol shortage is due to the current political crisis in Kenya which has hindered the transportation of the petrol from Kenya to Sudan.

Speaking to Miraya FM, he said that his company is also facing problem of transporting diesel from Khartoum but pointed out that they are expecting some barges with fuel to arrive soon to Kosti port.

The manager of Petronas fuel station, John Lomoro, told MirayaFM that his station has been lacking diesel for about five days now. He said he is not sure how long this situation will last and added that his station has no diesel in stock. The impact of the fuel shortage has lead to the double increase in bus fares in Juba town.
