In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM, a leading member in the SPLM and a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lam Akol, said that he is committed in implementing his movement’s decision to exclude him from the ministerial posts.
Dr. Akol said that as one of the founders of the SPLM he will be an active member in the movement. "My message to the southern people", he said, " is how to benefit by the atomosphere which was created by the CPA to achieve tangible changes to improve our infrastructure, basic services and general development. Therefore we need to cooperate and do our best to achieve our demands which is included in the CPA." Dr. Akol also called on the southern Sudanese citizens to render support to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. He said that what is the most important is concentration on the development and rehabilitation in accordance with the implementation of the peace deal. He added that the agreement is being owned by everyone in the south Sudan."The ministerial reshuffle is normal in ruling state and it is up to the leadership of the SPLM to select the movement's team in the ministerial council, so it is normal for me if the movement decided to appoint new faces."
