President Omer Al-Bashir has issued a presidential decree on Wednesday appointing the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) Ministers in the Government of National Unity (GoNU).
The Secretary General of the SPLM, Pagan Amum, has been appointed as the Minister of the Council of Ministers.
Presidential Advisors
The Presidential decree issued by President Al-Bashir on Wednesday appointed Mansur Khalid, William Ajack Deng, and Andrew Makro as Advisors to the President.
SPLM Ministers in the GNU
President Omer Al-Bashir also appointed Deng Alor as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, James Kock Rona as Minister of Foreign Trade, Philip Thon as Minister of Transport,Roads and Bridges, Costa Manebe as the Minister of Investment, Dr. Haroun Ron Luwal as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor George Boreng Nyami as the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Tabitha Butros retained her position as the Minister of Health.
SPLM State Ministers in the GNU
As for the SPLM State Ministers in the GoNU, the appointments were as following:
Luwal Achwil Luwal as a State Minister in the Ministry of Presidency, Abbas Juma Abdallah as State Minister in the Ministry of Interior, Wek Mamer Kuol as State Minister in the Ministry of Justice, Aboch Kwojock Akwo as a State Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Bol Mirial Dut as State Minister in the Ministry of Industry, and Ismail Khamis Jallab as a State Minister in the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries, and Angelina Tany as Minister of State for Energy and Mines, in addition to Muhamed Yousef Al-Mustafa as State Minister in the Ministry of Labor.
The SPLM Advisors, Ministers, and State Ministers will officially resume duties in the GoNU after taking oath of office on Thursday in Khartoum, in the presence of President Omer Al-Bashir, and the First Vice President, President of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
