In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM, Musa Hilal, one of the Arab leaders in Darfur, said that he has received an invitation from the Darfur factions meeting in Juba but the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) refused to allow him to visit the town.
Hilal said that the SPLM official responsible for unifying the Darfur factions, Edward Lino, asked him to visit Juba for consultations on how to make the next round of the Sirte peace talks successful.
Hilal said that he was surprised by the SPLM decision rejecting his visit to Juba.
Meanwhile, Edward Lino confirmed to Miraya FM that the SPLM had invited Musa Hilal to visit Juba to include the Arab tribes in the next round of the peace negotiations.
Lino said that he is not aware that Hilal is being prevented from visiting Juba.
He added that the visit can take place any time in the future.
