National Assembly endorses the new SAF bill |

The National Interim Assembly has endorsed the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) bill as the third act, after the ratification of the Interim National Constitution and the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
Speaking to Miraya FM the head of the Security Committee in the National Assembly, Lt.General Jalal Tawer, said that the military act rendered powers to the General Commander of the SAF.
"In the new law there are features and genuine additions which include the humanitarian and international agreements signed by Sudan," said Lt. Gen. Tawer.
Commercial activities
He said that the powers of the military leadership as stipulated in the law have been given to the military General Commander of the SAF.
"Also in the law the armed forces has been given chances of commercial activities for its members and those having pensions but without exceeding into business," said Gen. Tawer.
The SAF General added that the law provides the rights for "Military industrialization and production of equipment" needed by the troops.
"The law for the SAF specified for its deployment in the north-south border of 1.1.1956 which is now ready," Lt. Gen. Tawer concluded.
