The Minister of Veterinary in the Upper Nile State, Stephen Obeinj, said that the Rift Valley Fever has emerged in some pastoral farms in the northern part of the State.
However, the Minister of Health in the State, Kueth Kang, denied the existence of the Rift Valley Fever in the State.
Speaking to Miraya FM the director of service at the Veterinary Ministry said that the reported cases up to now are among humans. Kueth Kang, the Minister of Health in the State, said that a medical team includes members from the health ministries in both the Government of Southern Sudan and the Upper Nile State, in addition to that, the UN Food and Agricultural Organization had visited the northern part of the State.
The team took samples for testing but the results are not ready yet.
Kang pointed out that the ministry has put measures in place to combat the infection.
The Commissioner of Renk County, Deng Akway Kak, told Miraya FM that the Renk hospital up to the moment, did not receive any patient infected with the Rift Valley Fever.
