The Minister of Finance and Human Resources in the Central Equatoria State, Angelo Doyu, said that it is the State's responsibility to issue vehicle license plates. Mr. Doyu, said it is clearly stipulated in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that each State has the right to issue its own license plate numbers and to collect taxes.

Mr. Doyu was reacting to comments made by the Director General of Taxation in the Government of Southern Sudan, Ayom Jok, who recently accused the Central Equatoria State of planning to register all vehicles in Juba.
