South Sudan orders vaccines to treat Rift Valley Fever

The Ministry of Animal Resources in the Government of South Sudan (GOSS) has ordered about one hundred thousand doze of vaccine to treat the Rift Valley Fever disease in the south.Speaking to Miraya FM, the director of Disease and Vector control in the Ministry of Animal Resources, Dr. Jacob Aorok, said the ministry has deployed a senior animal healthy experts in RenkCounty in the UpperNileState to work with local veterinary personnel to monitor the disease.
He said that two are suspected to have died from the disease in Renk town.
"We'll no do the mass vaccination for all the southern Sudan but we will just focus on Renk because Renk is adjuscent to the White Nile," Dr. Aorok said.
He said that they want to create a buffer zone "we want to prevent the spread of the disease to southern Sudan," said Dr. Aorok.
The director generfal of preventive medicine, Dr. John Rumunu, has meanwhile cautioned the public that who ever experiences flu, fever, muscle, headache, joint pains, vomiting and widespread bleeding from parts of the body should report to the nearest health clinic because the signs could be of the Rift Valley Fever.
