The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) has affirmed that it is in full control of the Ain-sorou area in North Darfur State.

Reports earlier said that one of the Darfur rebel movements took control of the area.

The Director of  SAF's Spokesman’s Office, Lt. Colonel Al-Swarmi Khalid Saad, told Miraya FM that the area is actually under the control of the Sudan Armed Forces and it has not been attacked.

The United Front for Resistance, one of the Darfur armed movements, said it took over Ein-Sorou and held 83 SAF soldiers as hostages.
