The National Congress Party has declared its reservation about the intention of convening a meeting by the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to resolve the escalating political crisis in Sudan.
The Foreign Relations Official of the National Congress Party, Kamal Obeid, told Miraya FM that the joint mechanism between the two parties can resolve the crisis.
Earlier, a Kenyan official said that some regional leaders are planning to hold a summit to resolve the growing political crisis between the National Congress Party and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The official said that the idea of convening the summit was suggested following the meeting beyween the Presidents of South Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda in Nairobi in the presence of the former Kenyan President, Daniel Arap Moi. Miraya FM asked the political analyst, Dr. Abdel Latif Al-Bouni, about the role that the IGAD countries can play to resolve the crisis between the National Congress Party and the SPLM.
