US increases its humanitarian and developmental assistance to south Sudan |

The US reavealed that it increased its humanitarian and developmental assistance to southern Sudan for the next year.
It also affirmed that it will help in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
The Secretary General of the SPLM, Pagan Amum, told Miraya FM that President Bush pledged to back the two parties of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement to implement it.
Mr. Amum said that the First Vice President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, will discuss today in Nairobi with the Kenyan President the peace agreement before coming to Khartoum.
"They have discussed the current crisis and the role of the United States in helping the two partners in implementing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement-specially the outstanding issues like the Abyei protocol," said Amum.
He said President Bush and Kiir also discussed the reconstruction of South Sudan.
Mr. Amum further added "Kiir and Bush discussed the democratic transition in Sudan and the US support of the democratic process in Sudan."
