The Sudan Liberation Movement-Unity Faction which boycotted the Sirte peace talks has called for the change of venue for the talks from Libya to South Africa or any other non-Arab country.
Speaking to Miraya FM, the Field Commander of the movement, Jar el Nabi Awad Al Karim, blamed Libya for what he called "the failure of the talks in Sirte. "
"The negotiations must be transferred from Libya to South Africa, because if Libya hosts the talks again we shall not be there," said Al Karim.
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs in the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Haroun Abdul Hamid, said his movement has no objection to any venue.
He called on the mediators to specify the agenda of the negotiations prior to the talks.
"We need from the African Union to prepare and make a conducive environment for the coming talks because you cannot make a signature of an agreement between the Sudanese government and people who are in camps," said Dr. Hamid.
He stressed that an agreement should be reached with the Darfur movements.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the SPLM Darfur Task Force, Cannon Clement Janda, said that the mediators of the peace talks will travel to Darfur to encourage the factions there to join the unification process in Juba.
Speaking to Miraya FM Cannon Janda said that the unifying efforts of the Darfur factions will continue before the factions would go back to Sirte.
Janda also said that the AU and the UN have breifed the Vice President of the Government of south Sudan, Dr. Riek Machar, about the Darfur peace talks in Sirte and the meetings in Juba with the Darfur factions.
