The United Nations and African Union mediators in the peace talks between the government and the Darfur movements had earlier decided to postpone direct negotiations between the two parties. The Darfur movements requested the postponement of the talks for three to four weeks for more consultations among them. Ahmed Ibrahim Diraij…the leader of the Federal Alliance talked to Miraya FM on the issue: Meanwhile the secretary of the office responsible for the Darfur issue in the government of southern Sudan Dr. Asheil Deng Akol has confirmed that the SPLM has funded meetings of the Darfur factions in Juba to enable them to continue their meetings. Mr. Deng also said the international community has accepted to fund these meeting. He added that the Darfur factions which traveled from Juba to Serte may retune to juba shortly.
