The Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-Abdel Shafi faction) has accused the Sudanese government of bombarding the areas of Jebel Tuba and Sirba in West Darfur State.

Speaking to Miraya FM from London, a leading member in the Movement, Najm el Din Abdul Karim. said that the government is violating its own announcement of the ceasefire.

"The time the government announced the ceasefire from its side, the same time its air forces shed Jabel Tuba and Sirba," said Karim.

He added, "and this is aganist the message that the government is genuine in reaching real and sustaniable peace in Darfur".

The US special envoy to Sudan, Andrew Natsios, has earlier said that the Sudanese government always makes announces ceasefire and then later go back and fight.

Natsios said that the government has to restriant itself.

The SLM and the Justice and Equality Movement which are boycotting the Sirte talks expressed distrust over the ceasefire announced by the government.
