A statement issued by the UN Security Council threatened to take disciplinary action against any party that seeks to undermine the peace process by impeding the upcoming Darfur negotiations starting the day after tomorrow in the Libyan city of Serte.
It further called upon all involved parties to commit to an immediate ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Ambassador to the UN, Abdulmahmood Abdulhaleem, welcomed the statement.
