UNMIS's Force Commander says the UN works to diffuse tension between the SPLM and the NCP |

 The Force Commander of the United Nations Mission in Sudan, Lt General Jasbir Lidder Singh, has said that the United Nations is working hand in hand with the Sudan Armed Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army to try to evolve the approaches towards diffusing the tensions between the two parties.
Speaking after the meeting of the Ceasefire Joint Monitoring Commission (CJMC) in Juba, Mr. Singh said that the commission has decided to play a proactive role by visiting the areas where there is tension.
He called upon the political bodies monitoring the ceasefire to hold an emergency meeting on the security issues.
