The government has announced its delegation to Libya to hold the peace talks with the Darfur factions that rejected the Abuja peace agreement. The government delegation to the talks is headed by Dr Nafia Ali Nafia.
The Presidential advisor Dr Osman Mustaffa Ismail said that the delegation includes all parts of the Government of National Unity.
The chairman of the South Sudan Darfur Task Force, Cannon Clement Janda, said a delegation representing the Darfur factions that are meeting in Juba is expected to travel to Libya today or tomorrow to request the postponement of the forthcoming talks.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Sudan Liberation movement Mannawi’s faction, Saif Al-Deen Salih, told Miraya FM that the movement is studying the suspension of its participation in the government on the background of Haskinta and El Muhagerria incidents and the issues related to the implementation of the Abuja peace agreement.
However, the Darfur factions that are not taking part in the delegation to Libya will continue their meetings in Juba. Canon Janda did not give more details.
