The Government of Southern Sudan has bought equipments at one million and four hundred thousand US dollars for roads construction in Juba.
According to the Under-Secretary of the Ministery of Transports and Roads, Dr. Daniel Wani, transporting the equipment on River Nile, from Kosti in northern Sudan to Juba in addition to the import tax and the added value, has been very expensive. He did not give details, though.
He also said the Government of Southern Sudan contracted the Italian Civil Engineering Company to tarmac sixty four kilometers of Juba’s roads. The Ministry has also bought thirty barrels of bitumen.
