The Governor of Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, Lt Gen. Mark Nyipouch, has opened yesterday a tiles factory in Wau town.
The State purchased the tile-making machine from the Italian Tiger company for one hundred and thirty million Sudanese pounds.
The factory has the capacity of producing three thousand roofing tiles per day.
Governor Nyipouch said even though the machine was purchased by the State government, the company is expected to be a shareholding company, adding that the public offering of the shares will be announced soon.
The Governor further encouraged Wau residents to use the tiles for roofing their houses.
