The Governor of Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, Lt Gen. Mark Nyipouch, has opened a tile-making factory in Wau town.
The 130 million Sudanese Pounds tile-making machine was purchased from Tiger Company in Italy and has the capacity of producing 3,000 roofing tiles a day.
Governor Nyipouch said even though the machine was purchased by the State government, the company is expected to be a shareholding company, adding that public offering of the shares will be made public soon. The Governor further added that Wau residents should use the tiles for roofing their houses as part of the development brought by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
