The South Sudan Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating a case where eighty-five thousand dollars have allegedly been siphoned off the finance ministry.
Three high ranking employees of the Audit Chamber, including the deputy auditor-general, have been suspended pending the investigation.
The amount, which belongs to the audit chamber, equals half of the chamber’s annual budget in US dollars. There have been allegations of graft in the Government of South Sudan that led to the sacking of the former finance minister; leading to the government to contract a British firm, PKF, to audit its finances.
