Six UN peacekeepers killed in roadside explosion in Lebanon |

Reports said that six soldiers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have died after their vehicle was hit by an explosive device. Two Spanish and three Colombian peacekeepers, all serving in the Spanish army, had been killed in the blast,and three Spanish soldiers were also wounded. They were the first Spanish casualties in Lebanon since the United Nations troops were deployed to south Lebanon last year.The deployment of the United Nations Interim Force to Lebanon under resolution 1701 ended the fighting between Israel and Hizbollah in the country last year.
