The United Nations Police has launched the South Sudan Police Service Data Base, aimed to help the local police to keep data. The system will also help the police in planning because it will contain information on personnel, payroll, retirement, promotion, training and discipline among others. The United Nations is currently training local police to operate the system and will hand it over to the Sudan police in the long run.
Speaking during the occasion, the public information officer of the United Nations Police, Gundeli Adewali said that what the UN is trying to do is to get the complete dossier of the southern Sudan police service into a data base system service that will be used for the development and inability of the southern Sudan police service. "This will help them renounce their capacity in terms of output and input of the various resources and the information needed to make the service strong and purposeful," Adewali said.
