The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement said today that the postponement of its second annual joint leadership and political bureau meeting with the National Congress Party was due to the differences between the two sides, referring to disagreements on Abyei and Oil issues. Speaking to Miraya FM a leading member in the SPLM, Atem Garang, said that the movement called for clear stances on these issues before the joint leadership meeting:
"Just before starting the meeting. said Atem Garang, "the Sudan People Liberation Movement realized that the meeting will be just as a clustery or camouflage on the Sudanese people to show that every thing is going well and this amount to lying. we are actually trying to determined what is disrupting the two Partners to reach An agreement on the issue of Abyei and the Oil concession." Meanwhile the assistant to the president of the republic, Nafei Ali Nafei, said the joint committees have not yet finalized their reports which were supposed to be forwarded to the leaders of both parties. Speaking to Miraya FM the minister of information in the government of southern Sudan, Dr. Samson Kwaje, said if the meeting resumes it is supposed to discuss all issues regarding the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
