The United Nations under secretary general for the coordination of the humanitarian affairs, John Holmes, has said in Nairobi that the UN will open investigations of human rights violations in Somalia . Speaking to the Press on Monday Holmes said that large scale of human rights violations took place during the conflict period between March and April of this year. Earlier a Somali human rights organization stated in its report that 800 people most of them civilians were killed during the conflict between the rebels and the Somali forces backed by the Ethiopian forces.
