The Democratic Republic of Congo’s Foreign Minister, Rudolf Adada, has been appointed as the Head of the Joint United Nations/ African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur. Adada, who has been Congo’s Foreign Affairs Minister since 1997, was yesterday announced as the Head of mission in a joint statement by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, and the Chairman of the AU Commission, Alpha Omar Konare.
