Libya and Eritrea will deploy military observers on Chad-Sudan borders for monitoring |

The Libyan assistant to the foreign minister in charge of African affairs, Dr. Ali Abdel Salem Triki, met President Al-Beshir, for discussions on how to ease the tension between Sudan and Chad. Dr. Tiriki said that during the meeting Sudan has agreed to calm the situation. Dr. Tiriki added that Sudan had agreed for the deployment of military observers from Libya and Eritrea to monitor its borders with Chad. Earlier the Sudan Armed Forces said that 17 of its army officials were killed while 40 others were wounded, in a clash with the Chadian army in West Darfur last Monday. However the Chadian officials said 30 were killed on both sides.
