The Ministry of Health in the Government of Southern Sudan purchased twenty ambulances fitted with life saving machines for the ten Southern States.
The Minister of Health in the Government of Southern Sudan, Dr. Theophilus Ochang, said the twenty ambulances have cost his Ministry over three million dollars. Dr. Ochang added that Medical Assistants are being trained on how to handle the life saving machines. Dr. Ochang said, "you know that our storing facilities are completely limited even at the central level. The present center at Juba medical store is so small that even the supplies of Central Equatoria State can not fit in". Dr. Ochang further added, "we want to build very big central medical stores here in Juba then another one in Malakal and Wau and one in each of the ten states at least to guarantee a chain of supply of drugs from the center to the states from the states to counties".
