 President Omer Al-Bashir has issued a presidential decree appointing Abulgasim Imam Al-Haj of SLM faction as the governor of West Darfur State. President Bashir also issued a presidential decree relieving Ja’afar Abdal-Hakim Ishak from being the governor of West Darfur State. Before joining the Abuja agreement Abulgasim Al-Haj deflected from the main SLM-Minnawi faction. As stipulated in the Abuja agreement the SLM-Abulgasim faction will be rendered the post of governor in one of the Darfur States and deputy governors in the other two States.
