The Justice and Equality Movement rejected the ceasefire in Darfur which was proposed by President Al Bashir earlier today.
The Secretary of External Relations in JEM, Haroun Abdelhamid, told Miraya FM that ceasefire should be effective on the ground.
He added that the announcement of ceasefire by the government is a preparation for military operations as he put it.
President Omer Al Bashir announced today a ceasefire and cessation of all media campaigns up to the end of the year.
Al Bashir also expressed commitment to compensate the affected people and holding negotiations with the armed movements in Darfur.
This came at the conclusion of the Sudan People's Initiative Forum today at the Friendship Hall in the presence of Eritrea's President Isaias Afewerki.
