Nafei arrives in Paris today to discuss French initiative PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 06 October 2008

A Sudanese delegation led by Presidential Assistant, Nafei Ali Nafei, is expected to begin talks today with French officials in Paris.

The meetings will focus on the French initiative to resolve the Darfur problem and the issue of the ICC.

France had earlier launched an initiative that includes conditions to resolve the crisis with the International Criminal Court which accuses President Al Bashir of committing war crimes against humanity in Darfur.

The French initiative proposes the suspension of procedures against Al Bashir if the government agrees to several conditions that include the suspension of State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Ahmed Haroun.

The Spokesperson of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Abdul Wahid Faction-Yahya Bolad told Miraya FM that the leader of the movement Abdul Wahid Nour will not meet Nafei in Paris as there is no arrangement for that.

Bolad rejected talks with the government before cessation of military operations by the government among other conditions.
