Sudan People's Liberation Army dismissed any connection to the weapons ship that was hijacked off Somalia's coast on Thursday.
Senior member of Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) Major General Byor Ajang told Miraya FM that the army has the right to import weapons from anywhere in the world without coordination with the Sudan Armed Forces.
He pointed out that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement gave the SPLA wide powers regarding development, disarmament and training.
Earlier, a Kenyan senior official has confirmed in media statements that the thirty hijacked tanks were on their way from Somalia to South Sudan through Mombasa port.
