Sudanese forces attacked armed movements' positions in north Darfur for a second day running on Sunday, forcing civilians to flee, a leading member of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Abdel Wahid Nour faction told Reuters News Agency.
But leaders from two rebel factions told Reuters that Sudanese army soldiers, in up to 60 vehicles, attacked rebel positions around the settlements of Dobo and Aradim, about 75 km south-west of the capital of North Darfur el Fasher early on Sunday morning.
SLM-Field Commander Abdullah Suleiman confirmed to Miraya FM that armed forces launched an attack on its locations in Kutum on Saturday, leading to several casualties including civilians.
Meanwhile, Sudan's Armed Forces Spokesperson denied carrying out any military activity in the area.
