Kenya deploys troops across borders with south Sudan PDF Print E-mail

The Kenyan consul general in Juba, Joseph Kiplagat told Miraya FM that Kenyan government is considering deploying more troops in the area bordering with south Sudan in order to protect Kenyan citizens from cattle rustlers.

According to Kenyan consul general, in the last two weeks armed cattle rustlers suspected to be members of southern Sudanese Topossa tribe killed five (5) and injured eight (8) Kenyan citizens, and abducted one 18-year old boy.

The consol added that among the victims are two boys aged 12 and 13 years.

Mr. Kiplagate said that armed cattle rustlers from southern Sudan raided about one thousand (1.000) herds of cattle during the last two weeks.
