Arop Mayak of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement and Rahma Abdul Rahman of the National Congress Party have been sworn in as the new Chairman and Deputy of the Abyei Interim Administration before President Omer Al Bashir.

Al Bashir called on the two parties and the new management to work as one team to achieve the ambitions and aspirations of the people in the area.

Arop Mayak said to the press that security, stability and the provision of needs of citizens in addition to reconstruction and resettlement are the administration's top priorities.

Meanwhile, Abdurrahman stressed return of IDPs and rehabilitation of the area after the war damages.
