Wednesday, 27 August 2008

The hijackers of the Sudanese plane which is in Al Kafra airport in Libya have released all the passengers on board by an agreement with Libyan authorities.

Reports said that a certain hijacker has given up his earlier strong position and said that he did not target the passengers but wanted to reach the French capital Paris.

Speaking to Miraya FM, the Spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority, Abdel Hafiz Abdel Raheem, said that the hijacker, whom other sources say are two, have kept the plane's crew under detention.

The Boeing 337, which belongs to Sun Air Airline Company, was hijacked yesterday afternoon while on route to Khartoum from Nyala.

The Director of Al Kafra Military Airport, Khalid Sasiya, said the hijackers, estimated to be ten or more, announced they belong to the Sudan Liberation Army -Abdel Wahid Faction.

Sasiya added the hijackers said the hijacking has been coordinated with Abdel Wahid.

On another hand, Abdel Wahid Nur faction, denied involvement in the incident.

Speaking to Miraya FM, the Spokesperson of Abdel Wahid faction said they do not resort to such ways.
