The President of the Republic of Sudan Omer Al-Bashir is expected to arrive in Juba today to hold talks with top southern Sudan government officials.
The President is expected to chair a joint Council of Ministers meeting in Juba to review implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
He is also expected to meet with members of the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly and witness the signing of contracts for various projects to be implemented in southern Sudan, including bids for the construction of three power dams in the South.
The visit to Juba comes after more than a year since January 9, 2007, when Al-Bashir attended celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the CPA.
